PPF & Coloured PPF
Protect the paint. Keep the finish you love.
Clear and coloured paint protection film, fitted with care. Help protect your car from stone chips and everyday wear, with coverage and a finish chosen around you.
What is paint protection film?
Paint protection film, usually called PPF, is a protective film fitted over your car’s painted panels. It takes the wear from everyday driving, helping to shield the paint underneath from stone chips, light scratches and surface contamination.
At Wraptastic, we offer clear and coloured PPF from 3M, Arlon and Avery Dennison. We help you choose the film, finish and coverage that suit your vehicle, how you use it and your budget.
Clear PPF
Keep the colour you already love while adding a discreet protective layer. Clear PPF is a practical choice when preserving the appearance of the existing paint is your priority. Gloss and matt options depend on the selected range.
Coloured PPF
Change the look of your car and add paint protection in the same installation. Choose a colour and finish from our PPF ranges; we’ll confirm availability and suitability before agreeing your installation.
Protection you can enjoy every day
- Help prevent stone chips: a protective barrier on vulnerable panels reduces exposure to small stones and road debris.
- Reduce everyday surface wear: protect covered areas against light scuffs and scratches.
- A finish that stays looking cared for: selected films offer stain resistance and water-repellent surfaces to make routine cleaning easier.
- Self-healing technology: on films with this feature, light marks in the film’s surface can recover with warmth. It does not repair the paint underneath or heal deep cuts.
Features vary between products. We’ll explain the specification and care requirements of your chosen film.
PPF or a normal vinyl wrap?
Both can transform a vehicle’s appearance. The main advantage of PPF is its purpose-built protection against stone chips and everyday paint damage. Ordinary colour-change vinyl is primarily a styling material; it should not be treated as equivalent stone-chip protection.
| Your priority | PPF | Vinyl wrap |
|---|---|---|
| Paint protection | Designed to help resist stone chips, scratches and road wear. | Some surface coverage, with colour and styling as its main purpose. |
| Appearance | Clear protection or a colour change with coloured PPF. | A wide choice of colours, effects and graphics. |
| Light surface marks | Self-healing is available on selected films. | Do not assume a standard vinyl wrap has this feature. |
| Best starting point | Choose when preserving paint condition is central to the project. | Choose when your main goal is a new colour or design. |
We can talk you through both options. Explore our car wrapping service if you’re still deciding.
Help preserve your car’s condition and value
Paintwork condition matters when a car is sold or part-exchanged. Visible chips, scratches and cosmetic damage can affect how buyers assess a vehicle. By helping to prevent this wear on covered panels, PPF can keep the original finish better presented and may reduce the need for cosmetic paint repairs.
That can support resale appeal, but it is not a guaranteed increase in value or a promise that the installation cost will be recovered. Age, mileage, service history and market demand still influence the price. Think of PPF as a way to care for the car you own and preserve its condition for the next owner.
Choose the coverage that suits your driving
High-wear areas
Discuss protection for vulnerable areas such as door cups, sills, mirrors and loading edges.
Front-end protection
Focus on road-facing panels such as the bumper, bonnet, front wings and mirrors. We agree the exact coverage with you.
Full exterior protection
Cover the agreed exterior painted panels for broader protection, in clear film or your chosen coloured PPF.
Every installation starts with a discussion of the vehicle and its paint condition. Existing chips, repairs or failing paint may need attention first. PPF preserves a suitable finish; it does not repair damaged paint.

Your PPF questions, answered
Can PPF be fitted to a used car?
Yes, subject to the condition and suitability of the paint. Send us clear photos and tell us about previous repairs or resprays so we can assess the preparation needed.
Will it prevent every chip or scratch?
No film makes a car damage-proof. PPF helps protect against everyday wear, but severe impacts, deep cuts, dents and accident damage can still affect the film and the panels beneath it.
Can the film be removed?
PPF can be professionally removed. Paint condition and previous repairs matter, so removal should be assessed carefully, particularly on repainted or weakened surfaces.
How do I care for it, and is there a warranty?
Follow the care guidance for your selected film, including the initial curing period. Use gentle washing methods and avoid abrasive cleaning. Remove contamination promptly. Product warranties, covered issues and exclusions vary by range; we’ll confirm the applicable terms for your chosen product.
How much does PPF installation cost?
The price depends on your vehicle, film, coverage and preparation. For supported full exterior coloured PPF options, use our wrap calculator and choose a PPF range. Clear film, partial coverage and unpriced finishes need an individual quote. We confirm the scope and final price before booking.
